Description:   

This is one of  two Rogers Game Boards of all wood type (no cover paper litho) I have owned. The pressed wood covers have a checkerboard, backgammon and cribbage games inbedded in them.  The bottom is just plain wood. These boxes open to empty space but, one side has a large paper notice describing that the box contained carbon paper sheets “in tin foil cases according to a process patented July 23, 1889.”  I date these game boards to 1893 or later.
