Description: In many Carter’s Ink Ideal tins there were placed a cloth mesh disc that was called a sifter disc. After the original ribbons were used, secretaries could use the tins to hold face powder, the disc was placed over the powder. Most of these tins had cardboard bottoms as that made a better container for powder than a tin bottom. Tin may have affected the powder. The tops were made of metal.
