Description: John Underwood was the most prolific typewriter company in giving away these celluloid note pads from at least 1891 to 1900. Here are 4 examples. They all have Underwood’s seal, say: “Compliments of”, advertise their Caligraph & Hammond ribbons, carbon papers and typewriter supplies. They also list their Chicago & Toronto offices. They all have 2 silicate pages to write on. Only the 1893 pad indicates who the maker was: Thos. Jay Cole & Son, 112 Liberty St., New York.
